Cranberries in 12 oz. bags, sweet potatoes by the pound, and celery bunches were the most advertised commodities this week.  Collards, asparagus, baby carrots, green beans, Brussels sprouts, and hard squashes rounded out the top 10 vegetables advertised this week.   Granny Smith apples, pineapples, tangerines, grapes, pomegranates, Bartlett pears, and berries finished off the top 10 advertised fruits for the week.  Yellow onions and Russet potatoes were top for their category.  The number of ornamentals jumped substantially, as poinsettias dominated seasonal ad sections.  \n\nTotal ad numbers this week were 331,456, a 17% increase from last week's total of 282,460. The total for the same week last year was 3% lower at 322,192.  The total number of ads broken out by commodity groups: fruit 149,876 (45%), onions and potatoes 33,974 (10%), vegetables 137,914 (42%), herbs 1,001, ornamentals 5,243, hemp 2,470, and honey 1,979.  The number of ads for organic produce was 30,152, 9% of total ads.  \n\nThe following are the prices of major advertised items (3,000 plus ads) this week, compared to the same week last year. Significant increases in price for fruit this week included only pineapples (each) at 11%.  Significant decreases included Bartlett pears (per lb). at 22% and red seedless grapes (per lb) at 13%.  Significant changes in price for potatoes and onions this week included a 12% increase for yellow onions (3 lb. bag), and an 11% decrease for Russet potatoes (10 lb. bag).  Significant increases in price for vegetables this week included baby carrots (1 lb. bag) at 10%.
