Peaches from Utah, Colorado, North Carolina, and West Virginia joined supplies from well known peach states such as Georgia, California, and South Carolina.  Delaware corn, Georgia blueberries, Virgina yellow squash, Arkansas zucchini, Arizona watermelon, Utah beets, Connecticut tomatoes, Michigan cucumbers, and New Mexico hatch chilis were among the local items featured in ads this week.   Retailers also focused on items popular for grilling like sweet onions, pineapples, bell peppers, asparagus, and even potatoes.  \n\nTotal ad numbers this week were 289,950, a 5% increase from last week's total of 277,021.   The total for the same week last year was 3% lower at 282,781.  The total number of ads broken out by commodity groups: fruit 173,211 (60% of all ads), onions and potatoes 16,634 (6%), vegetables 96,721 (33%), herbs 668, ornamentals 1,121, and hemp 2,263. The number of ads for organic produce was 43,006, 15% of total ads.  \n\nThe following are the prices of major advertised items (3,000 plus ads) this week, compared to the same week last year. Significant increases in price for fruit this week included red cherries at 22% and red seedless grapes at 15%.  Significant decreases included yellow peaches at 14% and blackberries at 13%.  There were no significant changes in price for potatoes and onions this week.  Significant increases in price for vegetables this week included yellow squash at 18% and zucchini at 13%.
