| 34 | 2025-09-12 | Weekly Grocery Store Specialty Crops Feature Activity | Fall Promotions It was an eventful week at grocery stores this week, with multiple promotional opportunities for produce retailers. With Rosh Hashanah occurring soon, stores were stocked with celebratory staples such as pomegranates, carrots, honey, and apple and grape juices. Football season is in full swing, and tailgating favorites like fruit and vegetable snack trays, lemons, limes, baby carrots, and bell peppers were in the starting lineup. National Hispanic Heritage Month was recognized in several flyers, featuring sales on tomatillos, onions, Roma tomatoes, cilantro, jalapenos, plantains, cactus pads, mangos, papayas, and sweet corn. Displays of hard squashes, pumpkins, and apple cider left no doubt that Fall is here, at least in spirit anyway. Speaking of spirits, stores were offering scary good deals on Halloween candy, costumes, and décor. Total ad numbers this week were 293,624, a 3% increase from last week's total of 285,759.
